Bill is recognized internationally as an expert on sustainable engineering. Founded in 2003, his consultancy has developed a substantial client base of more than 40 U.S. and international organizations in both the public and private sector. His book, Becoming Part of the Solution: The Engineer’s Guide to Sustainable Development, has been labeled a “best seller” in the consulting engineering community.
Bill chairs the FIDIC Sustainable Development Committee and the principal author of the FIDIC Project Sustainability Management Guidelines. This is an international publication that provides a framework and a process for setting project sustainability goals, objectives and metrics, and for guiding practitioners in the delivery of projects that truly contribute to sustainability. He is also a member of the ASCE Committee on Sustainability and is currently the lead designer for the sustainable infrastructure project rating system, a collaborative effort with ASCE, ACEC and APWA.
